As an energy healing practitioner, I am committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in my practice. The following code of conduct outlines the principles and guidelines that I pledge to adhere to:

Client-Centred Approach:

• I prioritize the well-being and autonomy of my clients, respecting their individual beliefs, values, and preferences.
• I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment that fosters healing and personal growth.

Informed Consent:

• I obtain informed consent from clients before initiating any energy healing sessions or techniques.
• I provide clear and comprehensive information about the energy healing process, including potential benefits, risks, limitations, and alternative options.

Confidentiality and Privacy:

• I maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information, including personal details, health concerns, and sessions’ content.
• I ensure that sessions are conducted in a secure and confidential environment, respecting clients’ privacy rights at all times.
• I recognise that there are circumstances in which breaching confidentiality may be necessary, such as when there is a risk of harm to the client or others, or when required by law.

Professionalism, Competence, and Insurance:

• I uphold the highest standards of professionalism, honesty, and ethical conduct in all interactions with clients and colleagues.
• I maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance to ensure protection for myself and my clients in the event of any unforeseen circumstances.

Referrals:

• I recognise my professional limitations and will refer clients to appropriate healthcare professionals or specialists when their needs fall outside the scope of my practice or expertise.
• I collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for clients, prioritising their well-being above all else.

Respect for Diversity and Inclusion:

• I recognise and respect the diversity of clients’ cultural backgrounds, beliefs, values, and identities.
• I adapt energy healing techniques and practices to accommodate individual needs and cultural sensitivities, fostering an inclusive and affirming environment for all clients.

Boundaries and Professional Relationships:

• I establish clear boundaries between myself and clients to maintain a professional and therapeutic relationship.
• I communicate clear cancellation policies to clients and uphold these policies to respect the time and commitment of both parties.
• I avoid dual relationships or conflicts of interest that may compromise the integrity or effectiveness of energy healing sessions.

Ethical Marketing and Advertising:

• I accurately represent my qualifications, experience, and expertise as an energy healing practitioner in all marketing materials and communications.
• I refrain from making false claims about the efficacy of energy healing techniques or promising outcomes that cannot be guaranteed.

Responsible Use of Resources:

• I utilise resources responsibly, including time, energy, and materials, to ensure that clients receive optimal care and value from energy healing sessions.
• I transparently disclose fees, charges, and billing practices to clients, avoiding financial exploitation or overcharging for services.

Treating Animals:

• I recognise that treating animals with energy healing techniques may be appropriate in certain circumstances, such as promoting relaxation or alleviating stress.
• I acknowledge that under UK law, energy healing for animals may require veterinary supervision and consent.
• I will always seek veterinary approval and collaborate closely with qualified veterinarians when providing energy healing to animals, prioritising the animal’s welfare and well-being above all else.
• I understand that my insurance company may require an additional qualification in order to provide professional indemnity cover to work with animals.

Continuous Self-Reflection and Improvement:

• I engage in regular self-reflection and critical examination of my practice, identifying areas for improvement and ethical growth.
• I seek feedback from clients, colleagues, and supervisors to enhance my effectiveness as an energy healing practitioner.
